I’m not much of a breakfast person. I’m usually too groggy to make anything elaborate and I don’t like cereal very much. Even smoothies seem like a little too much work sometimes. But not this one! Before I go to bed, I peel a banana, cut it into large chunks, and throw it in a zip top bag (which you can reuse for all your banana freezing needs). I brew the chai tea and put that in the refrigerator. In the morning, I throw the chai, banana, and creamer into the blender and in less than 5 minutes, I have a delicious, creamy smoothie for breakfast.
Using creamer in the smoothie adds a little sweetness and that vanilla flavor that’s essential to any chai. Normally when we buy creamer, it’s for my husband’s coffee, but I’ve been experimenting with using it in different ways and I’ve been surprised at how versatile it is. And unlike regular creamers, the Good Karma creamer I used in this recipe is made without dairy, so it’s lower in calories and fat.
- 1 large banana, cut into large pieces and frozen
- 8 oz. brewed chai tea, cooled
- 3 tbsp. French Vanilla creamer (like Good Karma)
- Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Disclosure: I received a sample of Good Karma creamer, but all opinions are my own.
