There are some seasonal flavors that are easy to figure out. Pumpkins are harvested in the fall, for example–even though most of us aren’t harvesting our own pumpkins, that’s how pumpkins came to be associated with fall. But what about peppermint? What is it about this flavor that makes it such a big part of the holidays? Is it because the cool, minty flavor is reminiscent of the weather outside? I don’t know, but I do know this: I love peppermint! Here are some of my favorite peppermint treats for the holidays.
1. Peppermint Hot Chocolate [Williams-Sonoma] // 2. Peppermint Candy Cane Truffle [Vosges] // 3. Vanilla Peppermint Crunch Gelato Starter [Sur La Table] // 4. Peppermint North Poles [Williams-Sonoma] // 5. Peppermint Marshmallows [Sur La Table] // 6. Peppermint Bark [Crate & Barrel] // 7. Peppermint Snow [Williams-Sonoma]

You know, I have never had peppermint bark. I’m going to have to try that stuff out one of these days.

REALLY?! I love it, especially the kind that’s really thin. I need to try to make my own someday…
