I try to avoid sugary drinks, but sometimes I get a little bit bored of drinking water all the time. This is why I love unsweetened iced tea. Unlike it’s pre-sweetened counterparts, unsweetened bottled tea isn’t cloyingly sugary or laden with high fructose corn syrup. If you like a little sweetness in your tea, you can add the amount and type that you want. As for me, I drink it as-is–unsweetened tea is zero calories! Here are some of my picks for best unsweetened bottled teas.
Ito En Jasmine Japanese Green Tea // This is my favorite tea. It’s wonderfully aromatic and has floral notes that make it very different from other green teas. You can find it at Japanese markets (and some Asian markets) and purchase online directly from Ito En or on Amazon.
Ito En Oi Ocha Japanese Green Tea // If the Jasmine Green Tea is a little bit too floral for you, try Ito En’s Oi Ocha instead. Brewed from the first harvest of tea leaves in the spring, this bottled green tea is light, brisk, and refreshing. It also contains a healthy dose of vitamin C in each serving.
Honest Tea Organic Just Black Unsweetened Tea // Honest Tea is more readily available than Ito En–you can find it in most grocery stores. When not brewed properly, black tea has the potential to be bitter, but Honest Tea is always perfect.
Tejava Premium Iced Tea Unsweetened // Tejava is 100% microbrewed with hand-picked tea leaves from Java. The flavor is strong, so if you like milder black tea, this might not be the best choice for you. I really like adding some fresh lemon juice to this one.
Teas’ Tea Mint Green Unsweetened Tea // This is another of my favorites (and it’s another from Ito En). The combination of green tea with peppermint is so refreshing. I often get motion sickness when I travel, so I like to take a bottle of this tea with me on long car rides–sipping mint tea is really soothing for sensitive stomachs.

Teajava is the only one of those I’ve had. I need to stay on the lookout for the others.
